About Brett MacDonald
I’ve always had a passion for environmentalism and sustainability. I was drawn to the environmental space because I genuinely care about how we understand and interact with the natural world around us.
Being in this space can be so rewarding whether it be by protecting urban forests or by educating people about environmental topics. Helping connect people with the environment has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career thus far.
But I’ve realized that environmental information is often complicated, overwhelming, and misunderstood.
My vision is to support organizations and communities in building a stronger understanding of environmental concepts, issues, and solutions. This work is important to me because I believe that better understanding leads to better decisions, and ultimately, more effective action toward environmental sustainability.

I became interested in the idea that better communication and understanding could actually change how people engage with these topics, and that is what led me to focus on environmental education and knowledge translation.
What I Bring
Master of Environment and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Honours).
Over 10 years of working in forestry, conservation, project coordination, and environmental policy during my time in non-profits, government, and academia.
Through all that work, I’ve seen how important environmental education and knowledge are in today’s world, especially as information becomes more complex and harder to navigate. I use my experience to help organizations and communities better understand environmental concepts and communicate them in a clear and meaningful way.
Why It Matters
This work is important to me because I believe that people need to properly understand the environmental issues and challenges that we are currently facing. I want people to feel confident in understanding and engaging with these challenges, rather than be overwhelmed by them.
EASi Learning Solutions was created to bridge the gap between environmental misconceptions and true environmental understanding. Whether someone is trying to better understand a concept, communicate information more effectively, or make more informed decisions, I want to help make that process easier.
At the end of the day, this is about helping people connect with environmental knowledge in a way that makes sense to them.
